Description

To lead the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of QNL services for children and young adults aged 0-17 years, their families, caregivers, teachers, and librarians. Develop partnerships and collaborations to enhance children and Young Adults library services in Qatar, the region, and internationally. Key Result Areas: Collaborate with the department Manager on strategic planning and efficient execution of quality library services and community engagement initiatives aligned with QNL's strategic objectives, ensuring proper management of the department budget. Manage the development and implementation of socially inclusive services and activation of library spaces that are developmentally appropriate, fostering a sense of belonging, lifelong learning, and community engagement. Promote team cooperation and cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive library service delivery. Continuously improve services for schools. Develop external partnerships to enhance QNL's educational and recreational activities regionally and internationally. Oversee the assessment of services and library spaces through observation, feedback, and data analysis to improve engagement and offerings. Ensure services are fair and accessible to maximize reach among local youth and school communities. Evaluate electronic resources to ensure diverse formats supporting youth learning and development. Create and maintain documentation and procedural manuals; ensure team training for internal procedures. Lead and manage the team to foster a supportive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment, emphasizing continuous improvement. Engage in on-site observation of services to maintain quality and support team members, directly engaging with users. Foster a safe, collaborative environment through effective team management. Contribute to the profession via publishing, presenting, or participating in professional organizations and events. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience, including at least 2 years at a supervisory level. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to motivate and collaborate with staff and colleagues. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement process improvements and evaluate service outcomes. Knowledge of international library trends and the developmental, recreational, and educational needs of youth and student populations. Proficiency in managing, promoting, and maintaining assets for public use. Experience in creating developmentally appropriate programs and services for children and caregivers.
