Job Purpose: To lead the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of QNL services for children and young adults from the ages of 0-17 years old, their families, caregivers, teachers and librarians, and to develop partnerships and collaborations that will improve children and Young Adults’ library services in Qatar, the region, and internationally.Key Result Areas: Works closely with the department Manager on strategic planning and efficient execution of quality library services and community engagement initiatives in alignment with the QNL’s strategic objectives and ensures department budget is consumed appropriately. Manages the development and implementation of socially inclusive services and library spaces activation that are developmentally appropriate to foster a sense of belonging and encourage lifelong learning and community engagement. Fosters team cooperation and cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive library service delivery. Continuously improving services for schools. Develops external partnerships and collaborations that will improve QNLs’ educational and recreational activities in Qatar, the region, and internationally. Oversees the assessment of the services and the related library spaces to achieve successful engagement using observation, feedback, and data to improve the offering in the library. Ensures that services are provided in a fair and accessible manner to maximize reach and engagement to local youth and school communities. Evaluates electronic resources within the unit to ensure collections are available in various formats, supporting the youth’s learning and developmental needs. Creates and maintains documentation and procedural manuals for areas of responsibility and ensures that team are trained and can successfully perform internal procedures. Leads, oversees, and manages the team, ensuring a supportive and inclusive working environment, high performance, prioritization, and a culture of continuous improvement. As much as possible engages in on-person observation of services to ensure the quality of the offering and to provide support for team members and directly engage with users. Fosters a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment by means of managing the team. Contributes to the profession by publishing, presenting, and / or participating in professional organizations and events. Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience 2 of which at a supervisor level. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, supervise, and collaborate with staff and colleagues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement process improvements and evaluate service outcomes. Knowledge of international library trends, developmental, recreational, and educational needs of youth and student populations. Proficiency in management, promotion and maintenance of assets intended for public use. Experience creating developmentally appropriate programs and services for children and caregivers. Ability to use initiative, organize, set goals, and follow procedures.#J-18808-Ljbffr
