Lab IT System admin

Job Description Manage, configure, and support complex systems crucial to computational biology and data management, ensuring reliable performance that aligns with research needs. Additionally, the system admin will oversee the integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-value lab equipment, enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime, and minimizing disruptions to research. This role also supports improved data management and security by securely storing, organizing, and making data accessible. The system admin’s expertise will further optimize computational biology workflows by managing software updates and addressing technical issues, ultimately enhancing QBRI’s computational biology support. Overall, this role will significantly benefit our laboratory operations, supporting both current and future research initiatives. Qualification Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking, and IT infrastructure within a lab environment. Familiarity with lab-specific hardware, data acquisition systems including backup systems, LIMS and troubleshooting for laboratory equipment. Candidate must have 1-2 years of experience in IT or system admin or engineering, preferably in a biomedical or laboratory setting. F22#J-18808-Ljbffr
