Description
The Training Instructor – Avionics is responsible for preparing and delivering both theoretical and practical training related to the Typhoon Type, including specialist and support training. They assess trainee performance and evaluate the efficacy of the training system. Formal training occurs within the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility (QTTF), supplemented by mentored training in the operational environment. The role also includes duties within the Squadron Training Cell to develop, maintain, and manage the competencies of Squadron personnel. Key aspects of the Training Instructor – Avionics role include: Preparation and delivery of allocated courses in accordance with the authorized syllabus and associated materials, following the training schedule within the Training Management Information System (TMIS). Invigilating and marking examinations and assessments, including continuous assessment, evaluation, and reporting of trainee progress. Developing, maintaining, and managing the competencies of Squadron personnel, with specific roles detailed in the Job Specifications, such as ensuring trainees use appropriate PPE, conducting equipment pre-use checks, and maintaining a safe training environment. Maintaining discipline of trainees at all times, including during break times and changeovers. Reporting trainee absences to the Training Instructor Supervisor and/or Head of Maintenance. Fulfilling roles supporting the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility (QTTF), such as Course Coordinator, Subject Lead, and Training Aircraft and Equipment Coordinator, as appointed. Developing and maintaining personal instructor competencies and actively contributing to continuous improvement by identifying course deficiencies and suggesting enhancements to training materials and systems. Minimum Requirements: Possess a Level 3 or above Training Qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education & Training, Level 4 Certificate, or Level 5 Diploma). Hold a recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant aircraft maintenance discipline or equivalent. Have recent in-depth experience (minimum 5 years) supporting Maintenance & Support environments, including direct experience supporting training activities. Understand the Regulatory Framework applicable to training systems and activities. Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering aircraft Type training, with operational knowledge of instructional delivery and mentoring, and understanding of key performance metrics. Possess a professional understanding of training structures and processes, with the ability to develop and implement solutions as a generalist within the field.
