Job Purpose Summary: The Senior Vision Mixer crafts news and programmes based on the director's vision and the producer's rundown. The Vision Mixer operates complex gallery equipment and possesses a strong technical understanding of television equipment. They are expected to design, create, and implement vision mixer setups, including e-mems and macros. Key Responsibilities and Accountability: Program the video switcher to provide composite effects required in live broadcasts or programmes and create special effects such as multiple boxed pictures, via the vision desk or other equipment. Operate large and complex vision desks. Cut between sources in collaboration with the Director or independently, anticipating the visual requirements of each programme and planning how to meet them. Collaborate with graphics operators and the creative department to achieve the desired on-screen appearance, advising on material delivery and integration into the production process. Operate the video switcher during live or recorded shows, cutting between cameras, feeds, graphics, and effects as directed. Keep track of programme rundowns using NRCS and store effects systematically for smooth operation. Document new effects and configuration changes to assist other Vision Mixers in accessing effects and understanding updates. Identify faults with the video switcher and coordinate with the Engineering department for repairs. Liaise with sound and news operations departments as needed for visual effects with audio components and OB productions. Job Requirements / Qualifications: Degree in Film, Directing, Video Editing, Graphics, Media, Communications, or related fields. At least 5 years of experience in television, including three years in a 24-hour news environment in a vision mixing role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
