Position at Al Jazeera Media Network Job Purpose Summary: The Senior Vision Mixer crafts a news and programme from the director's vision and the producer's rundown. The Vision Mixer operates large and complex gallery equipment and has a strong technical understanding of television equipment. They are expected to design, create, and implement vision mixer setups, including e-mems and macros.Key Responsibilities and Accountability: Programming the video switcher to provide composite effects required in live broadcasts or programmes and creating special effects such as multiple boxed pictures via the vision desk or other equipment.Operating large and complex vision desks, cutting between sources in coordination with the Director or independently, anticipating the visual requirements of programmes.Collaborating with graphics operators and the creative department to achieve the desired on-screen appearance, advising on material delivery and integration into the production process.Operating the video switcher during live or recorded shows, cutting between cameras, live feeds, graphics, and composite effects as directed.Tracking programme rundowns using NRCS and storing effects systematically to enable smooth operation.Documenting new effects and configuration changes for quick access by other Vision Mixers.Identifying faults in the video switcher and coordinating with the Engineering department for repairs.Liaising with the sound department to program visual effects with related sounds and with News Operations on OB productions.Job Requirements / Qualifications: Degree in Film, Directing, Video Editing, Graphics, Media, or Communications.At least 5 years of experience in television, including three years in a 24-hour news environment as a Vision Mixer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
