Arabic and Islamic Teacher Job Description Type: Permanent Department: Academic Line Manager: Head of Arabic Functional Reporting: N/A Rationale The purpose of the role of Arabic and Islamic Teacher is to promote a love for students of all abilities at the school. They must share the responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessments of the subject that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, raise standards of attainment and achievement, and promote high standards of literacy and articulacy. The teacher will be a qualified educator with a proven capacity to lead and deliver high-quality teaching and learning, inspiring and motivating students to progress independently. They will work closely with colleagues, support the school’s ethos, and promote good relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. Initiative, empathy, and a proactive attitude are essential, with opportunities to lead subject initiatives and extracurricular activities. Key Duties and Responsibilities Learning and Teaching: Set high expectations, establish a safe environment, plan lessons, promote learning, assess progress, and adapt teaching to meet diverse needs. Behaviour Management: Promote good behaviour, manage classrooms effectively, and uphold school discipline policies. Wider Responsibilities: Contribute to school life, develop professional relationships, and participate in extracurricular activities. Health and Safety: Follow safety protocols, perform duties responsibly, and promote safety awareness. Personal and Professional Conduct: Maintain high standards of ethics, build respectful relationships, and uphold school policies. Position Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution Teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE Minimum 3 years relevant experience Fluent in English Skills and Knowledge In-depth understanding of assessment methods and curriculum development Effective teaching strategies, management skills, and excellent communication Organizational skills, professionalism, safeguarding awareness, and intercultural competence Other Information Employees must adhere to the school's values, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
