Group Finance Control Officer
Description
Role Objective The incumbent will assist the reporting authority in the effective administration and operations of the Financial Control function, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, rules, regulations, and policies. They will also review and supervise the work of Nostro Reconciliation and Accounts Payable functions.Detailed Roles and Responsibilities: Financial Control Function including Accounting and Bookkeeping Review daily consolidated balance sheets and escalate any abnormal situations, such as significant fractional differences.Provide guidance on accounting issues for local and overseas branches and the DBAC group, in consultation with the Section Head and Department Head.Assist in preparing and revising the Group Finance Policy and Procedure manual regularly to ensure it is up-to-date.Review and develop accounting procedures for various business units, new products, or activities, considering system capabilities, accounting standards, and local regulations.Accounts Payable Assist the Manager of Accounts Payable during staff shortages or absences to ensure smooth payment operations, with approval from line managers.Ensure timely payments by the AP team and escalate delays to line managers.Ensure monthly MIS reports are prepared by the AP team and escalate any delays.Nostro & Inter-Branch Reconciliation Assist the Manager of Reconciliation during staff shortages or absences to maintain smooth operations, with approval from line managers.Assist in preparing monthly MIS reports on reconciliation outstanding items.Analyze reconciliation reports and escalate issues to the Section Head/Department Head of Group Financial Control.Ensure reconciliation data backups and archives are properly maintained monthly.Information for QCB/External/Internal Auditors & Compliance Coordinate to ensure all reports and information required for audits are prepared and available.Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for quarterly or annual audits.Qualifications & Experience: University degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or related discipline.Master’s degree in Management or related field is an advantage.4 to 5 years of experience in Group Finance.Qualification in ACCA, CPA, or CA Finalist.Key skills include knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, familiarity with financial systems like Oracle, and good communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
