BC Academy International School - Dubai (UAE) Since opening in August 2024, BC Academy International School - Dubai has seen great interest from our Dubai community. As such, we are expanding our Primary and Secondary School provision as we grow. We are looking for highly skilled and motivated subject specialists who can lead Teaching & Learning and enhance our student enrichment programme. Requirements BC Academy International School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Islamic Studies Teacher fluent in Classical Arabic (Fus-ha) to teach Islamic Studies and potentially lead UAE Ministry Subjects across the school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the UAE Ministry of Education standards, fostering a deep understanding of Islamic teachings, values, and heritage. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the Islamic Studies curriculum, mentor fellow educators, and take on a leadership role overseeing all UAE Ministry-mandated subjects, including Moral Education, Social Studies, and Arabic. Responsibilities:

Teach Islamic Studies to secondary school students, ensuring lessons are aligned with the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum.
Deliver lessons in Classical Arabic (Fus-ha) while fostering students' understanding of Islamic beliefs, practices, and history.
Prepare students for UAE Ministry of Education examinations, ensuring academic success and a deep understanding of the material.
Develop and implement a comprehensive Islamic Studies curriculum for Year 2-13.
Organize and lead initiatives that encourage students to embody Islamic values, such as community service projects and school-wide events.
Oversee the integration of Islamic principles across school activities, ensuring alignment with the school's character-building ethos.
Lead and mentor teachers delivering UAE Ministry subjects, ensuring high-quality instruction and alignment with Ministry requirements.
Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing feedback to support academic and spiritual growth.
Stay updated on changes in UAE Ministry requirements and ensure curriculum compliance.
Collaborate with colleagues to foster cross-curricular learning opportunities related to Islamic Studies.
Organize events, workshops, and seminars to deepen students' understanding of Islamic culture and values.
Contribute to the preparation and success of KHDA inspections and other accreditation requirements.

Essential Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, or a related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or equivalent certification.
Fluency in Classical Arabic (Fus-ha), with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in Islamic Studies, preferably in a British or international curriculum school.
Strong knowledge of the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum for Islamic Studies and related subjects.
Proven ability to prepare students for Ministry exams and foster both academic and spiritual development.
Familiarity with Islamic pedagogy and the use of multimedia tools in teaching.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of educators.

Desirable Requirements:

A Master’s degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, or Education.
Leadership experience, such as Head of Islamic Studies or overseeing Ministry subjects.
Experience working in an international and multicultural school environment.
Knowledge of inspection frameworks such as KHDA, BSO, or Ofsted, with experience in inspection preparation.
Additional training or certification in Islamic pedagogy or curriculum design.
