Sr. Underwriting Supervisor

This role is responsible for supervising the underwriting team, managing complex risks, and implementing strategies to mitigate risks. The Senior Underwriter Supervisor ensures compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and reinsurance treaty requirements, while also providing guidance and training to junior staff members to enhance their skills and performance.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist the AM in day to day underwriting decisions and issuance
2. Provide coaching for team members
3. Process quotations as per the treaty guidelines and follow the quotations process
4. Ensure that the department adheres to external and internal SLAs
5. Explain policy terms and the actual application of exclusions to both providers and clients
6. Ensure quotations are delivered for various proposals
7. Communicate with reinsurers on best deals for various products
8. Take charge of delivering timed monthly and quarterly reports/closing
9. Ensure error-free quotations
10. Build relationships with existing channels to secure new accounts

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/E-Commerce or any related field
• 5+ years of experience in the field of insurance
• 3 years of experience in the same line of business
• Certification in insurance is preferred, CERT CII or their equivalency
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical decision making with supervision
• Analytical and numerical skills
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders
