Internal Job Title: Testing Technician – Quality Department Business Area: Lucy Electric Job Reference No: 3769 As a QA testing technician with Lucy Switchgear FZE, you will carry out routine electrical testing of RMUs, LV Pillar, and Acutec products as per LIMS procedure. You will report to the team leader and might have to work in shifts and do overtime as per work/company requirements. Job Purpose
- Test the products in accordance with Lucy’s Quality Control Instructions (QCI).
- Stage inspection of assembly processes and validation.
- Keep a log of tested and inspected products.
- Work with all inter and intra-department team members, participating in continuous improvement initiatives and make suggestions for improvements.
- Follow all health and safety instructions and safe working procedures as per Lucy Integrated Management System (LIMS).
- Provide a highly flexible response to variations in demand with minimum supervision.
- Test the products in accordance with Lucy’s Quality Control Instructions (QCI).
- Ensure that the test equipment in the calibration matrix has proper identifications and is checked for due date of calibration before use.
- Ensure that birth certificates are duly filled in and signed off by testing and manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the testing area and that the test equipment is handled properly and cleaned regularly.
- Inspect the units with respect to BOM; if any discrepancy is found with the product, alert the engineer and concerned production supervisors.
- Ensure that the products offered for testing are tested and released without any delay.
- Take an active part in all team working and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safe working practices are carried out at all times.
- Ensure all activities satisfy Lucy quality standards or other applicable standards.
- Alert the Team Leader or Line Manager for any discrepancies or abnormalities of products.
- Offer suggestions to the Team Leader/Line Manager that will improve the efficiency and safety of production areas and equipment.
- Raise awareness of manufacturing problems with the Production Manager and work with others to find and effectively implement solutions.
- Use D365 and Teamcenter to produce Bills of Materials (BOM) as required.
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or) Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or) Diploma in Electricals and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years hands-on work experience in electrical testing and QA/QC in MV switchgear industries . Good communication skills and leadership skills required.
- Hands-on testing experience of numerical protection relay, contact resistance measurement, CT and VT ratio, polarity tests, high voltage equipment handling skills, basic computer knowledge, etc.
- Understanding wiring schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Good communication skills in English (reading/writing/speaking) for understanding work procedures and internal communication.
- Ready to take initiative/participation in cross-functional activities to improve product quality and stability.
