Job Description: Assistant Technical Superintendent
The Assistant Technical Superintendent assists and advises the Technical Superintendent in various aspects, including:
Ship Engineering: Supporting maintenance and repair operations.
Spare Parts Inventory: Managing inventory and supply of necessary parts.
Ship Operations: Implementing and controlling the planned maintenance program for shipboard and shore facility equipment.
Annual Operating Budget: Assisting the Technical Superintendent in establishing and maintaining the budget.
Specifications Preparation: Preparing specifications for vessel overhaul, repair, modification, and upkeep periods.
Liaison Management: Establishing and maintaining communication with shipyards, contractors, vendors, and Regulatory Agencies.
Job Orders: Preparing job orders for Marine Facilities Shop assistance to ships.
Purchasing Assistance: Assisting the Purchasing Agent by supplying complete product or service specifications.
Marine Facilities Management: Managing the Marine Facilities shop through the Shop Supervisor, exercising cost and personnel controls.
Ship Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance of the ships.
In the absence of the Technical Superintendent, the incumbent may act in that person's capacity.
