Aldar Education are seeking Coding Teachers, commencing Summer 2025 or sooner by appointment, to support the growth of our owned and operated schools. In order to be considered for this post, they will have demonstrable experience of the British curriculum.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (specialising in Maths/Computer Studies) and/or a post-teaching qualification in a relevant subject.
  • 1-2 years of coding teaching experience in a school setting.
  • Mandatory experience in teaching the England National Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of Science, STEM, and coding.
  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language (EAL students).
  • To be approachable, professional, calm, and knowledgeable.
  • To be able to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating and nurturing children.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
  • Warmth, empathy, credibility, self-belief, integrity, drive, and child-centered.
  • To be able to prioritize workload and multitask.
  • IT literate and familiar with online technologies to aid in 21st-century teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
Purpose: To deliver coding lessons that include basic and advanced concepts of computer programming, helping to incorporate skills like logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving in students to inspire them to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes. Teaching and learning:
  • Demonstrating a clear understanding of the Curriculum for effective implementation of coding lessons and programs to match learning outcomes.
  • Planning and teaching using appropriate syllabus, instructional strategies, equipment, materials, and technology to promote coding skills in students.
  • Organizing the classroom provision and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing, and presenting sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Planning lessons and sequences of lessons consistently and effectively, in the long, medium, and short-term, to meet pupils’ individual learning needs.
  • Creating a climate for learning that is conducive to delivering outstanding practice.
  • Motivating students by delivering enjoyable and creative coding lessons that both challenge pupils and promote problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Observing and assessing pupils in line with school assessments.
  • Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this.
  • Supporting SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students and ensuring that their needs are met through differentiation.
  • Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required, to best cater to the diverse learning needs of pupils.
  • Facilitating Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face-to-Face lessons.
Assessment and data:
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
  • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour management and duties:
  • Following the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Managing classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintaining good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school’s behavioural policy.
  • Being a positive role model and demonstrating consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
  • Having high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
  • Carrying out duties as directed and within the school’s policy.
Wider professional responsibilities:
  • Working as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well-being using school systems/processes as appropriate.
  • Making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
