Job Overview We are seeking an experienced stand-alone HR Manager to join our Abu Dhabi office, responsible for managing Human Resources functions and delivering outstanding HR service across the Middle East and Africa region. This role will manage the full range of HR topics for a diverse workforce of approximately 100 employees, located across Oman, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia (startup office), and other potential sites in development. The size of these sites varies, from small startup teams to well-established offices up to 50 employees. The role reports to the Regional People Partner and belongs to a larger North Europe, Middle East and Africa Hub led from the UK offices. The role will work in close collaboration with multiple HR stakeholders across the business and the corporate functions. Key Responsibilities
- HR Point of Contact : Act as the primary contact for local managers and employees regarding all HR matters, provide guidance and support. Manage conflicts and crisis when needed.
- Legal Compliance : Ensure that all HR documentation, policies, and practices across regional offices are compliant with local laws. Manage relationships with external solicitors when legal expertise is needed.
- Payroll and Documentation : Collaborate with local accounting teams and country managers to oversee payroll. Ensure accurate and timely input of payroll data and changes. Provide templates for individual documents and manage contracts, addendums, and employee benefit administration.
- Compensation Management : Work with the Corporate Compensation team to assess the competitiveness of our local compensation packages. Manage local salary reviews and administer the bonus schemes.
- Benefits Management : Review and manage employee benefits across all locations, liaising with local vendors to ensure competitive offerings. Administer benefits plans and negotiate improvements annually.
- Performance Management and Development : Support managers in assessing and providing feedback on team performance. Ensure quality check-ins and performance evaluations are documented in Workday. Assist managers in addressing underperformance, balancing legal compliance with business needs.
- People Development : Identify training and development needs across all locations. Work with global and regional HR teams to implement individual and collective development plans. Contribute insights to the yearly people review process.
- Relocation Management : Oversee onboarding and relocation for employees moving to or out of the regional offices, in collaboration with corporate mobility team. Ensuring smooth transitions with support in visa processing, local formalities, housing, and schooling.
- Recruitment : Work in collaboration with the Talent acquisition team to hire local talents and sustain the recruitment efforts with an emphasis on strengthening ties with local universities and promoting diversity and inclusion.
- HR Systems Management : Maintain HR data integrity in Workday through regular audits and ensure timely updates to employee records. Build dashboard and identify trends to define local action plans.
- Employee Engagement and Positive Work Environment : Foster positive employee engagement and internal communication, contribute to the local events and drive locally the IDEA (D&I) agenda ensuring alignment with local regulations.
- Professional Experience : Proven experience as an HR Manager overseeing multiple countries in the Middle East, preferably in the technology or oil & gas industry.
- Customer-Oriented Mindset : Strong service and customer focus, with the ability to understand stakeholder needs and deliver timely, high-quality support.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to assess complex HR situations, synthesize information, and provide recommendations.
- Interpersonal Skills : Strong relationship-building in a matrix and international environment, and communication skills with the ability to adapt to different environments and personalities.
- Organization Skills : Highly organized with excellent time management skills. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple HR functions simultaneously.
- Autonomy & Initiative : Demonstrates self-motivation and the capacity to work independently while also being a team player.
- Language Skills : Fluency in English is essential.
- HR Systems Experience : Prior experience using Workday is desirable.
