The Associate Director - Renewable Energy is responsible for leading and managing renewable energy projects, ensuring their successful development, execution, and operation. This role involves strategic planning, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement to drive the growth and sustainability of the organization's renewable energy portfolio. The Associate Director will also play a key role in identifying new opportunities, optimizing existing assets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the organization's overall mission to advance clean and sustainable energy solutions. The Associate Director - Renewable Energy is tasked with driving the strategic development and management of the organization's renewable energy initiatives. This role focuses on leading the identification, planning, and execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring they meet financial, operational, and environmental objectives. The Associate Director will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to expand the organization's renewable energy portfolio, foster innovation, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.     • Lead the development and execution of the organization's renewable energy strategy.
    • Align renewable energy projects with broader organizational goals and sustainability initiatives.

    • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning and operations.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

    • Ensure projects deliver expected returns on investment and contribute to the financial health of the organization.
  3. Technical Expert:
    • Provide technical oversight and guidance on renewable energy technologies and systems.
    • Ensure the integration of best practices and innovative solutions in project design and execution.
  4. Stakeholder Manager:
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, and investors.
    • Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and negotiations.
  5. Compliance Officer:
    • Ensure all renewable energy projects comply with local, national, and international regulations.
    • Implement and monitor environmental, health, and safety standards across all projects.
  6. Strategic Planning and Execution:

    • Identify opportunities for new renewable energy projects and evaluate their feasibility.
  7. Project Development and Management:
    • Lead the planning, design, and execution of renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, hydro, or biomass.

Education & Qualification:

  • Master's Degree (Preferred): In Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Science, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline.

Experience and Skills:

Industry Experience (No. of years): 10-15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on project development, management, or engineering. Experience in leading large-scale renewable energy projects is highly valued.

Competencies and Skills:

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in renewable energy modeling software, such as PVsyst (for solar), WindPRO (for wind), and HOMER (for hybrid systems).
  • Familiarity with energy storage systems, grid integration, and smart grid technologies.
  • Competency in using project management tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and investment appraisal techniques.
  • Ability to secure project financing through debt, equity, or public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Regulatory Skills:
  • Expertise in navigating environmental impact assessments (EIA) and securing permits for renewable energy projects.
  • Understanding of carbon credits, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and other incentives.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, stakeholders, and communities.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to manage stakeholder interests.
