Find your future with us.We have an opportunity for a Managing Director - Qatar to join the Boeing Global (BG) team. Based in Doha, Qatar, the role will serve as Boeing's Managing Director for Qatar to establish and implement the company's strategic vision in the continent and lead government relations with countries and supranational organizations across Qatar.The Boeing Global organization is responsible for leading the development and execution of enterprise-wide global, country, and regional strategies, in close coordination with the business and functional leaders. It also takes the lead on international government relations, providing direction and management of the company's interface activity with foreign governments and officials, industry leaders, media, policy and academic institutions in all areas of aerospace industry and related activities. It provides guidance and coordination of enterprise-wide country and regional strategies and policies to promote Boeing's international business activities.Position Responsibilities:The Qatar Managing Director reports to the President of Boeing Middle East, Qatar, Turkey and Central Asia (METACA). The Managing Director leads (and supports where appropriate) the government relations of Boeing in Qatar. He/She coordinates and collaborates with the business units, functions and other company entities (subsidiaries, joint ventures, etc.) to achieve their strategic goals and business objectives. The incumbent will leverage global resources, knowledge, and stakeholder relationships to expand their in-market presence and strengthen Boeing's competitive position in Qatar market. The person will seek to leverage intellectual, industrial, and financial capabilities and actively ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.In particular, the role will include the following duties:Leads (or supports, as appropriate) all government relations activities in Qatar. Identifies critical local government stakeholders, develops and maintains relationships with them. Supports the senior Boeing executives in gaining access to government officials and coordinate visits and briefings for Company leaders in Qatar.Develops and strengthens relationships with all regional stakeholders in Qatar, including country level and supranational organizations, business associations and community partners.Regularly interfaces with Boeing Business Units to enable an integrated approach to business, knowledge of key business, campaigns and partnership activitiesWorks with Boeing Business Units for aligning community relations, university relations, Boeing Global Engagement activities and sponsorships across in the region within the overall Company policy and guidelinesActs as focal on country and regional strategies for QatarActs as the in-house market expert and ensures team is kept up to date with significant market intelligence and geopolitical issuesSupports (or leads, as appropriate) on the implementation of enterprise and business initiativesActs as Boeing Global point of contact for site issues - including office planning; entity management responsibilities, staff engagementsDrives functional integration (leading where appropriate)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):10+ years' experience in a similar role in a regulated industry or a large governmental entity10+ years' experience working with cross-functional or cross-business teamson significant projects, particularly where the majority of the team does not hardline report into the candidateWilling to travel as required, expected to exceed not more than 35% of the timeExcellent written and spoken Arabic and EnglishPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Prior experience in a Fortune 500 company (or equivalent)Prior experience doing business in Qatar or the Middle East regionDemonstrated business acumen and ability to identify business opportunitiesEvidence of successful interactions with governmental entities at all levelsDemonstrable ability to successfully navigate a complex and matrixed organization structureFluency in written and spoken ArabicTypical Education & Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degreeRelocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Doha, Qatar. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Qatari law.
