We are currently seeking to recruit Senior Lecturers/Lecturers for theSchool
of Engineering and Construction . The successful candidates will be
responsible for teaching various modules in theBSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

we may only contact the shortlisted candidates for interviews.About the RoleCandidates joining as senior lecturers or lecturers at this stage will
be considered team members of the respective school. By demonstrating their
leadership capabilities, skills, motivation, and productivity, they will
subsequently be considered for senior roles and responsibilities within the
school, including positions such as Dean, Associate Dean, Programme Leader,
Module Leader, and Coordinator, among others. There are ample opportunities for
growth within the institution for the right candidates.The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to :Deliver a range of modules across the
respective programme,Develop teaching materials and assessments for
the modules they deliver across the programme. All lecturers are also expected
to make relevant contributions to the development of teaching materials and
assessments for all modules across programmes to ensure that learning
objectives are met,Revise and update existing modules in line with
the latest industry developments,Collaborate with industry advisory boards to
enhance the relevance and quality of the programme and modules,Develop assessments for the programme modules,
ensuring compliance with LJMU guidelines and policies, alignment with the
assessment matrix, and adherence to verification and external moderation
deadlines,Serve as a personal tutor for students across
the programme portfolio,Act as an academic coach and mentor to
students, being available and willing to discuss students' concerns and issues,
their performance, and academic progression,Teach and assess students across a range of
written and presentation skills, providing individual feedback on students'
performances,Participate in extracurricular activities to
build teamwork and student engagement,Supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and
postgraduate research projects within their field of expertise,Comply with all LJMU academic regulations and
Oryx Universal College Quality Assurance processes related to the modules and
programmes they deliver,Contribute to the continuous development of
existing programmes and the introduction of new programmes within their school,Develop and deliver CPD and short courses to
enhance the School of Engineering and Construction's portfolio,Engage in approved research to contribute to
knowledge in strategic priority areas,Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars,
conduct tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and student field excursions
at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,Attend departmental, school, and faculty
meetings and serve on a number of committees,Commit to structured and unstructured
continuous professional and personal development to enhance performance, career
growth opportunities, and unlock potential,Proactively and
on-demand participate in other corporate and academic activities to contribute
to the college's strategy and growth plans .RequirementsWe expect you to demonstrate the following requirements:A postgraduate degree (preferably a PhD or being in the process of completing a PhD in relevant research fields, or a master's degree with relevant industry experience),Excellent oral and written communication skills in English,Ambition and motivation in the pursuit of academic research and excellence,The ability to inspire the best potential in every student through trust, quality of engagement, and a leadership approach to influence others,Expertise in the application and delivery of appropriate teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring students, assessments, and marking,The ability to work well independently and collaboratively with colleagues, enriching a highly valued corporate culture based on trust relationships and mutual respect,Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,Strong organisational and time management skills,Keen attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and meet multiple deadlines,A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative mindset,Experience and/or qualifications in teaching in a tertiary education environment,The ability to work well in
a team and enrich the corporate culture of the wider organisationAdditional value will be regarded for:Experience in conducting high-quality academic research and a track record of refereed research publications,Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide research guidance to junior researchers,Experience in curriculum and subject material development,Experience in developing
and/or implementing processes and policies in a tertiary education environment.Selected candidates are expected to relocate to Qatar around May-July
2024 .BenefitsLocation:Doha, QatarAnnual Salary Package:Between GBP 65,000 - 90,000 which includes Accommodation Allowance and
Transportation Allowance.Private Medical Insurance is provided to all sponsored employees and
their dependents, with other benefits (Salary is tax-free in Qatar). Candidates
