Role Purpose: The jobholder is responsible to conduct and analyze market researches for the Group and its companies using various internal, external resources and tools to provide proper market intelligence assisting Marketing and BU management in making sound decisions. Key Accountabilities

  1. Desk Research • Compiles information on competitors’ advertisements (email shots, print, web banners and billboards) from integral alerts, subscribing to newsletters, personal observations, online scanning, etc.; and, on competitors’ news, events and activities using Media Watch Middle East, among other resources, and reports to business units on a weekly basis to ensure that they remain abreast with industry updates for further analysis and decision making. • Uses weekly updates, industry reports, statistical information, online web searches, among other resources (OMD on expenditure), to develop elaborated monthly reports on market industry. • Compiles market data on all relevant industry sectors by extracting secondary information and liaising with various institutions (Traffic Dept., product principles, Dept. of Economic Development & Planning, statistics centers, media agencies, Abu Dhabi Chamber, ADTA, Central Bank, etc.) to obtain current, credible and accurate quantitative and qualitative data to utilize in market reports and sends to concerned business units.
  2. External Research • Creates questionnaires, manages Survey Monkey, coordinates with CRM and Social Media/Online Marketing Specialist to perform external perception and awareness surveys, among other types of questionnaires, to understand target groups’ psychographics, purchasing behavior, impact of a campaign, etc. • Conducts small scale fieldwork through short face-to-face interviews at exhibitions, internal showrooms, telephonic interviews, etc. in relation to assigned projects to gather more insightful and primary information.
Experience • Minimum 1 to 2 years of market research work experience. Knowledge & Skills • Highly observant and analytical, • Strong knowledge of statistics for quantitative researches (numerical and problem-solving skills), • Good knowledge and interest in behavioural science and psychology, • Excellent communication skills and confident personality to carry out qualitative researches, • Good exposure to statistical software (i.e. SPSS), • Very good in speaking and writing English and Arabic, • Highly proficient in MS Office esp. Excel and PowerPoint, • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, • Highly organized and methodical mind.
