Senior Sales Engineer - Material Handling

Job Purpose Responsible for selling products to achieve sales targets in terms of quantity and value whilst maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for achieving individual sales targets (unit sales, revenue, and gross profit).
Market Leadership
  • Execute agreed business plan to ensure the company achieves its sales and market share targets.
Customer
  • Develop a good knowledge of customers' needs and buying behaviors in order to support customers and provide them with the appropriate solution.
  • Attend to customer concerns/problems and ensure that they are resolved amicably, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all customers.
  • Create product awareness and arrange/conduct customer presentations and product demonstrations to improve sales opportunities and deals closure.
Competitors Insight
  • Keep updated on competitors' activities and provide timely feedback to Manager to support the development of marketing strategy.
Product Brand & Al-Bahar Image
  • Promote and conduct business in a professional manner to protect the integrity of the Caterpillar brand and Al-Bahar image.
Business Planning & Budgeting
  • Develop with the sales manager an individual sales plan (unit sales, revenue, gross profit, participation, closure, etc.).
Objective Settings and Achievements
  • Support execution and achievement of department objectives and action plans.
Operational Excellence - Sales Operations
  • Use the CRM system to create/manage activities and business opportunities as per CRM business rules and conventions.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of quoting, invoicing, and product delivery.
  • Develop with the Sales Manager an individual call plan and ensure its timely execution.
  • Complete the won and lost sales reports in a timely manner, ensuring data quality.
  • Provide to the Sales Manager periodical reports to apprise him on the business environment.
  • Keep up to date with new products and support the department on NPI activities.
  • Sell Integrated Solutions (New product Plus CSAs, Options, etc.) and meet targets.
  • Assist the Accounts Department in the collection of receivables where needed.
  • Initiate TPRs and SPARs for special pricing assistance.
  • Assist in planning and managing participation in trade shows and exhibitions to maximize market coverage.
  • Ensure accurate and timely update of the DBS customer database (Customer & Machines data).
Communication & Team Work
  • Communicate well with peers and other employees, and develop strong synergy with Product Support and Service employees.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to discuss plans, progress, and market opportunities.
QHSE Policy & Procedures
  • Promote, manage, and monitor the department's safety awareness and compliance with H&S policy to ensure a hazard and incident-free environment.
  • Review and discuss the significant environmental aspects and related actual or potential environmental impacts associated with the work.
  • Manage the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety systems through monitoring performance, involvement in hazard identification and risk assessments, involvement in incident investigation, and involvement in developing and implementation of system improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
  • 4-5 years relevant experience in Material Handling is mandatory. CAT dealership experience will be preferred.
