Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS) is a leading British International School in the Middle East, continuously rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB). JESS is seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced Head of Arabic A who can lead and deliver the Arabic A curriculum for KS1 and KS2 classes. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience in leading the Arabic A department within a UAE context and a proven track record. The Head of Department will be responsible for the line management and teaching and learning standards of the subject teachers within the department. Teachers who are willing to commit wholeheartedly to wider school life will be at a distinct advantage.Responsibilities
- Lead the Arabic A department and ensure high teaching standards.
- Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere for student well-being.
- Implement effective classroom management and organization.
- Collaborate with staff and contribute to extracurricular activities.
- Commit to safeguarding and child protection.
Minimum Requirements
- Fully qualified and experienced Arabic A Teacher with a relevant degree and professional teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role (Deputy Head of Arabic/Head of Arabic).
- Successful track record of outstanding teaching and leadership experience.
- Robust knowledge and understanding of raising standards in Arabic A.
- Commitment to personal and professional development.
- Ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
