Roles and Responsibilities

Perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  2. Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations.
  3. Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
  4. Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans for short-term work activities in own area.
  5. Focus on completing work within budgets.
  6. Takes the delegated lead over the discipline project team when necessary.
  7. Clearly communicate and explain complex issues and work to establish understanding.
  8. Applies all relevant procedures, practices and international standards according to his discipline (Static, Rotating, Package/special equipment), and applicable as per project requirements.
  9. Ensure all relevant McDermott procedures, practices and quality standards be implemented.
  10. Perform mechanical calculations related to the respective discipline (pressure vessels preliminary calculations, rotating equipment pre-dimensioning, power consumption determination, etc.).
  11. Perform mechanical data sheets and equipment specifications in accordance with process and project requirements.
Preferably registered professional engineer or member of professional engineering society. Good English in writing/speaking (B2 Level minimum). Quality oriented and schedule conscious. Serves as a technical reference and/or source of reliable information for the discipline. Leadership skills and willingness to coordinate some discipline tasks. Make recommendations to improve work processes. Provide support to construction when necessary, from office or at site.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. 10-15 years in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design.
  2. 5 years offshore projects experience.
  3. Rotating and package engineering experience is essential.
  4. Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Master Degrees Preferred).
  5. Strong working knowledge of many design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Preferably registered professional engineer or member of professional engineering society. Good English in writing/speaking (B2 Level minimum). Quality oriented and schedule conscious. Serves as a technical reference and/or source of reliable information for the discipline. Leadership skills and willingness to coordinate some discipline tasks. Make recommendations to improve work processes. Provide support to construction when necessary, from office or at site.
