Lead Design Engineer I - Electrical

Title: Lead Design Engineer I - Electrical Position reports to: Projects Engineering Manager Primary objective: To ensure electrical design integrity whilst leading the electrical engineering group on specific projects. Mandatory Requirements:

1. B.Sc.Eng. Degree.
2. At least 15 years total post-graduation experience.
3. At least 10 years post-graduation experience in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industry.
4. Minimum of 5 years as Lead Design Engineer.
5. Minimum of 3 years experience with software for the automation of the specialty.

1. Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, and that project objectives are satisfied.
2. Overall supervision of electrical engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project.
3. Ensure integrity of work scope and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
4. Manage project discipline resource requirements.
5. Prepare electrical cost, time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.

2. Excellent 2D computer design skills with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
3. Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
4. Able to interpret technical drawings.
5. Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information.
6. Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
7. Knowledge of the requirements for electrical installations within hazardous areas.
8. Desirable:
9. PMC experience would be advantageous.
10. Some experience with 3D modelling systems such as PDS, PDMS or AutoPlant.
11. Some experience with advanced electrical engineering design.
12. Exposure to site surveys, construction or commissioning support and Site Acceptance and Loop Testing on O&G facilities.
13. Trade experience would be advantageous.
