Microbiology Lab Coordinator

As Microbiology Lab Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of all activities in the microbiology laboratory. The role will ensure all lab activities contribute towards compliance with internal and international standards.
Accountabilities:
- Assist in Organising and carry out routine microbiological analysis of all raw materials and finished products based on risk categorization.
- Organize the analysis of any non-routine samples as required by business activities.
- Provide relevant technical support to other parts of the business i.e. HACCP implementation, equipment calibration and validation and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in root cause analysis to resolve food safety related issues effectively.
- Maintain and update the Laboratory Quality Manual.
- Maintain a safe working environment including all relevant H&S training, risk assessment & COSHH inventory.
- Provide appropriate and meaningful microbiological analysis results to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Assist in producing clear and concise SOPs for all the relevant laboratory activities.
- Maintain/update documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory activities.
- Any other reasonable tasks delegated by the line manager.

**Qualifications**:
- Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent or Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 4 years of relevant Microbiology laboratory-based experience in a high-risk food catering or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable relevant Microbiology laboratory-based experience in a high-risk food catering or manufacturing environment
- A good understanding of relevant Health and Safety implications of microbiology laboratory activities
- Ability to work as a team member accurately with due attention to detail
- Capable of working well under pressure
- Computer literacy specifically JDE and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of international laboratory accreditation schemes
