The role is to beresponsible for ensuring that all aspects of Flying Operationssupport and Mission Planning activities are proactively supportedto meet customer and business drivers /priorities.CoreActivityTherole is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of FlyingOperations support and Mission Planning activities are proactivelysupported to meet customer and business drivers / priorities.Included within the scope of this roleare:Responsibleto deliver an efficient Flying Operations support function tailoredto the requirements of theCustomer.Leadand run the Flying Operations support function to ensure safe andcorrect Flying Operations by theCustomer.Generationand management of Mission Planning data required by Typhoon tooperate.Provisionof instruction to Customer counterparts on the mission planningsystem and in the delivery of Flying Operationssupport.Retrievalof data from the aircraft post flight and debrief of thepilot.Additionallythe role will ensure integration between the Customer facingorganisation Operations Engineering and the other influencingFunctions to ensure requirements are adequately addressed andgovernance ismaintained.Therole holder may berequired to carry out additional oralternative tasks from time to time subject to holding theappropriatequalifications.KeyAccountabilitiesTowork for the Senior MSS Ops Clerk and Flight Operations Manager insupport to the Senior Typhoon Instructor Pilot and respectiveCustomer interfaces to develop solutions and plans allowing them tofocus on their operationalactivities.Respondto requests from internal and external customers for advice andproactively inform senior management decisionmaking to ensure dueconsideration is given to the business implications of optionspresented.Keepup to date in areas of expertise in order that the Customer andbusiness is aware of and able to take account or advantage of newdevelopments.Developand maintain links within the interfacing communities througheffective stakeholderengagement.Ensurecompliance with statutory regulatory and corporate requirements andexternal standards within areas of specialism and keep abreast ofchanges which may impact thebusiness.Firstline support to theusers.RequirementsQualifications/FunctionalKnowledgeHigher National Diploma /Certificate (or equivalent) in a relevant applicable subject isdesirable.Practicalexperience in an Operational environment isessential.FlightOperations experience militarypreferred.Fastjet experience with exposure to mission system planning for Typhoonor a comparable system from anotherplatform.Inservicesupportknowledge.TheSenior MSS Operations Clerk will be suitable to be cleared foraccess to sensitive (secret)information.Substantialknowledge of the theory best practice and practical application ofMission Planning methodologies tools andtechniques.MissionPlanning accountmanagement.MissionPlanning System hardware and software ConfigurationControl.MissionPlanning data transfer between MOB and deployedsystems.
