Mission:Ensure that the daily operation ofour Middle School reflects the school mission and values and thatthose are implemented through the IB Middle YearsProgramme.Responsibilities:• Contribute to the design ofthe strategic plan of the school.• Keep abreast ofeducational developments and research in the age range related tothe MYP.• Provide pedagogical and administrativeleadership with a focus on developing learning andteaching.• Work in collaboration with the Director ofLearning & Teaching, PYP and DP coordinators to oversee IBevaluation visits and action plans.• Ensure high standardsof teaching and learning through regular classroom visits,co-teaching and supporting teachers in their own professionallearning.• Ensure that the IB Standards and Practices andProgramme requirements are implemented in the school. Thisincludes:• Review, development and promotion of theprogramme implementation throughout the school and the schoolcommunity.• Organization and leadership of MYPmeetings/workshops for parents or others related to the programme,at the Head of the School s request.• Organization of theMYP Teachers Professional Development Plan ensuring teachers are incompliance with the IB requirements in this regard.•Organization and leadership of the collaborative planningprocess.• Design and implementation of the inductionprocess for new teachers.• Assume day-to-dayresponsibility for the management of Middle School studentbehavior, attendance, and discipline in cooperation withtutors.• Take a collaborative leadership role in thetransition of students into MYP and DP.• Develop,maintain, and supervise the duty rosters and monitor play areas forduty supervision.Requirements:• Extensive background insecondary curriculum, standards and pedagogy• 3 yearsexperience in a leadership position.• Teachingqualification• IB Educator Network member as a workshopleader, visiting team member or consultant is desirable.•Relevant experience in MYP teaching and implementation•Familiar with IT tools (ManageBac)• Strong organisationaland communication skills• Excellent interpersonal and timemanagement skills• Fluency in English. Arabic and Spanishdesirable• NEASC experience will be viewedfavourably
