The successful candidate willbe a 1099 the Director of Music with Music Ministry Internationaland be responsible for the following:Coordinating and administering the Roman Catholic andProtestant music supplies and materialTASKS:The Director of Music shall coordinate andadminister the music program for active duty and retired military,dependent Family members and civilian employees at the MCAS YumaStation The Director of Music shall coordinate and administer theprogram concurrent with the advance approval of the MCAS StationCommand The Director of Music shall communicate with the chaplain,worship leaders, cantor, and other musicians conducting services toensure a coordinated service of worship for the The Director ofMusic will plan and coordinate all musical selections with thepresiding Protestant Chaplain and Priest of the Roman Catholiccongregation or his/her designated representative to select musicin keeping with the theme and style of the specific religiousThe Director of Music shall select pieces forchoir solo presentation that enhance the atmosphere of worship forthe congregations of Protestants and Roman Catholics when TheDirector of Music shall adjust tempo and style of solo choirselections to enhance the congregation s ability to participate inThe Director of Music shall maintain, in anorganized and efficient method, all music supplies, resources,files, directives, and materials needed for the Protestant andRoman Catholic music The Director of Music shall provide theReligious Support Administrative Manager with the proper requestsfor the ordering of supplies and equipment to support theProtestant and Roman Catholic music programs concurrent with theadvance approval of the Protestant Chaplain and the priest of theRoman Catholic The Director of Music shallperform accompanist duties at the choir rehearsals and at servicesas requested and referenced in the Service Performance Rehearsalcan entail rehearsing with all appropriate congregation membersprior to the start of a religious The Directorof Music shall be on site at the start of the Sunday morningservices and for the duration, and/or other musicThe Director of Music shall lead the music toinclude the choir and The Director of Musicshall recommend, in writing to the MCAS Yuma Command Chaplain,music purchases that would enhance the Religious Ministries MusicalThe Director of Music shall notify the seniorReligious Support Administrative Manager in writing of any facilityor equipment maintenance The Director of Musicshall provide music selections to the Religious Program Specialist(RP) not later than 1200 on Wednesdays to be included in the weeklyThe Director of Music shall present a neat,well-groomed appearance appropriate for chapel worship servicesduring all times while he/she is performing services under thisThe Director of Music shall register eachsession performed in a logbook provided by the Station The Directorof Music shall annotate the date, times performed, and reason forperformance in the A copy of the logbook page(s) for the monthlyservices invoiced shall be submitted to the MCAS Yuma CommandChaplain with the his/her substitute bytelephone and email between 2-3 hours ahead of scheduled time whenunable to perform services due to non-scheduled time off, illness,inclement weather, and/or All work shall beaccomplished within the guidelines of the SOW and in coordinationwith the MCAS Yuma Command Provision of services to Roman CatholicMasses shall also be in accordance with the directive of theArchdiocese of Military Services (AMS) and the Roman CatholicChurch or his representative of the chapel SCHEDULE:Services are estimated at an average of thirteen (13)sessions per month, totaling no more than 104 (one hundred four)worship and 52 (fifty two) combined rehearsal service sessions, six(6) special Masses on New Year s Day, Confirmation Mass, AshWednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Christmas Eve/Christmas(Estimated and not Guaranteed), and two (2) special worshipservices that can include, but are not limited to memorial/funeralservices/Masses for military members only for a total of 164 (onehundred sixty-four) sessions QUALIFICATIONS:This contract is to support the Command Religious Programwith musical programs for the Roman Catholic and Protestant WorshipServices aboard the Station Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma,; The services may be provided instrumentally asPianist/Keyboardist or The Directorof Music must provide a quality music Quality music program isdefined as playing in tune, at the proper music tempo andappropriated to the solemnity of the worshipThe Director of Music must have five (5) yearsexperience with both Roman Catholic and Protestant worship serviceswith an ability to perform music on piano, organ orThe Director of Music must have the ability toplay either a keyboard type instrument or a guitar for the RomanCatholic worship services using the Oregon Catholic Press (OCP)Respond & Acclaim 2016 and the OCP breaking Bread Missal ; Theability to play for the Protestant worship services will be basedon popular contemporary
