About The Role The Senior Manager - Consolidation and GL will be responsible for the overall Group consolidation process ensuring completeness in eliminations, inter-company accounting, and to manage GL and accounting functions of the Group. The role is inclusive of ensuring proper accounting for the Group’s corporate level transactions, accounting for mergers, acquisitions and other business combinations. Will also coordinate, manage and support monthly consolidation and close activities for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. Using firm knowledge, experience, understanding of the Group structure, general ledger and financial systems, the role will drive process improvements and efficiencies while ensuring the integrity of the process and data. This position partners with the entire corporate finance team, cluster finance, and business units to support the consolidations and facilitate internal/external reporting processes. Core Responsibilities
- Perform consolidated financial closings, advise accounting on special transactions and Multi currency consolidations.
- Prepare full set of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all reporting and accounting standards.
- Advise sub consolidation teams on all applicable international financial reporting standards.
- Takes ownership of the Group’s consolidations and accounting process.
- Able to perform and comply with parent Group reporting requirement
- Participates in the development of software applications/processes implemented for both the business and accounting functions.
- Supporting business decision by evaluating the accounting impact of new business events, new projects, new joint ventures, new acquisition, or business combinations of any kind.
- Enhance reporting by expanding Business Intelligence reporting system (OBIEE) to cover the Financial accounting modules including GL, AP, AR, FA etc.
- Assure all transactions recorded and approved in submodules are properly captured and posted in General Ledger.
- Develop & maintain up to date Chart of Accounts and systems required for generating financial statements and related schedules.
- Work closely with external, internal and state auditors during any audit, providing information and details requested, making explanations, providing supporting evidences, manage interpretation differences, ensuring closing audits on time as planned.
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree with Major in Accountancy.
- Accounting Professional Qualification (ACCA, CA) is preferable.
- Experience with any big four accounting firms preferred.
- Knowledge & experience in Oracle ERP, EPM is preferable.
- Knowledge of Oracle FCCS is an added advantage.
- Deep knowledge and experience in applying IFRS in business.
- Outstanding knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Demonstrate a collaborative mindset, feeling at ease with regular business interactions.
- Strong communication skills & excellent interpersonal skills.
- Superior problem-solving and analytical skills result driven and open-minded.
- 7 – 10 years of experience in Financial accounting and Consolidation of which 5 years at managerial level.
