Opportunity EY is supporting our clients globally to develop strategies, design and build innovative solutions to transform, sustainably. In MENA, you will join a growing team of sustainability professionals in our Consulting Service Line, presenting a unique opportunity to make a real difference. You will be driving the delivery and implementation of market-leading projects, consulting on key strategic issues in the region, building networks, as well as driving market activities and client side delivery of sustainability-related products and services.There are a wide range of exciting projects that you will be able to get involved in, across energy, infrastructure, finance and government sectors. You will work with clients at all levels to help them navigate the sustainability agenda. Topics we cover include:

  • Decarbonisation: decarbonisation technology, science-based targets, strategies, capital allocation and business case development, emissions trading
  • Climate resilience: climate mitigation and adaptation, climate scenario analysis, adaptation strategies
  • Energy: new energy strategies, renewables and hydrogen, energy efficiency
  • Natural capital: valuing natural capital, environmental strategies
  • Sustainability-related issues: reporting (e.g. TCFD, TNFD, ISSB), ESG strategy, implementation and delivery of sustainability transformation strategies
  • Business strategy: influencing capital flows and decision-making processes, value chain sustainability
  • Implementation: supporting our clients to deliver upon commitments
Due to the focus and immediate need relating to the climate transition, EY is seeking exceptional talent with experience in decarbonization, climate resilience and new energies. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advisory services in relation to sustainability-related matters to support our client make informed business and capital decisions.
  • Support organisations to deliver upon strategies, by providing services and products to help our clients implement capital and change programs (for example, the delivery of large-scale capital programs related to renewables, climate resilience, decarbonisation, sustainability technology)
  • Support the marketing and delivery of sustainability technology solutions, including developing a deep knowledge of our technology alliance ecosystem capabilities, including assets and accelerators.
  • Provide advice to clients on the challenges, implications and opportunities of the climate transition and broader sustainability-related issues. Your insights will play a critical role in improving the sustainability performance of an organisation.
  • Deliver key sustainability-related projects for our clients on the abovementioned topics, including supporting and/or leading large-scale programs of work.
  • Lead teams or parts of teams on engagements, keeping a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to identify and seize business development opportunities in the MENA region. Your expertise in sustainability and climate advisory will be instrumental in winning impactful and transformational projects.
  • Support and drive the preparation of proposals in relation to our Consulting offerings to our clients. It is important to collaborate cross service lines to ensure the clients needs are addressed with our best of firm capabilities.
  • Create innovative and commercial insights and solutions for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion making sure that the work delivered is industry leading.
  • Working closely with colleagues, create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.
  • Contribute to the development of EY capabilities in technical areas and engage with clients regarding the application of these methodologies to their businesses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues outside of Consulting to deliver multi-disciplinary and cross-geographical work.
Skills And Attributes For Success As a Manager, you would be expected to manage projects and teams as part of a range of projects, as well as playing a key role in the delivery of technical work. It is essential that you bring the competencies that will allow you to do this, such as:
  • Develop sustainability-related business cases, including the determination of financial and non-financial impacts. This includes determining the true-value of sustainability-related projects.
  • Deliver sustainability-related projects and/or programs of work.
  • Develop sustainability-related strategies to influence strategic and capital decision making processes.
  • Build strong networks with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive climate initiatives effectively.
  • Lead and develop a team of practitioners, guiding them to deliver exceptional results and achieve project goals.
  • Deeply understand the complexities of climate change and possess proficiency in data analytics to derive meaningful insights from climate-related data.
  • Strong communication skills are essential to convey complex sustainability-related concepts to clients and internal teams in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to lead and inspire junior staff.
  • Commercial awareness of market opportunities.
Qualifications We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested in individuals that have the following qualifications:
  • Strong academic record and a degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience developing sustainability-related business cases, including the determination of financial and non-financial outcomes.
  • Demonstrable evidence of delivering sustainability related projects and/or programs of work.
  • In-depth understanding of sustainability issues and their connection to business value.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering sustainability-related advisory projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainability best practices, including areas of transformation, supply chain, digitization, business model innovation, and value measurement.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and strong leadership skills, coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, managing and guiding team members to achieve project success.
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills to provide data-driven insights to clients.
  • Track record of success and relevant experience in sustainability / ESG at a top-tier consultancy, or other relevant organization.
  • A strong understanding of any, or a combination of the topics that we cover in our team as listed above.
