Laboratory Management

Supervise and manage the daily operations of the geotechnical laboratory, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.

Quality Control

Ensure all testing procedures comply with ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards. Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality management systems (QMS).

Equipment Maintenance

Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and procurement of laboratory equipment. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and meets safety standards.

Staff Supervision

Lead and mentor a team of laboratory technicians and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training as needed.

Testing and Analysis

Perform and supervise a variety of geotechnical tests, including soil classification, grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, permeability, and compression strength testing.

Reporting

Prepare detailed reports on test results and findings. Ensure accurate data entry and documentation.

Client Interaction

Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support and consultation as needed.

Health and Safety

Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a geotechnical laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant testing standards.
  • Proven experience in laboratory management and staff supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory data entry software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
