Primary Purpose of the Job: Steward integrated reservoir studies and reservoir management of the QatarEnergy operated oil fields to optimize field development plans. Provide technical supervision and contribution of the reservoir simulation modelling aspect, reservoir / well performance data analysis, reservoir surveillance program, infill and workover well programs and reservoir management activities. Steward and formulate detailed / integrated development plans for both developed and undeveloped hydrocarbon resources. Bring new production to the offshore fields to extend their life and improve profitability; looking at the potential for development. Ensure optimization of the asset and cost reduction. Ensure the progress of development opportunities from the earliest stages all the way through to project sanction. Initiate, lead, and perform integrated reservoir studies, reservoir Management and perform Petroleum Engineering optimization, improvement & debottlenecking studies including new technology trial and pilot projects of Qatar Energy offshore operated oil fields to optimize development plans. Steward and formulate detailed / integrated development plans for both developed and undeveloped hydrocarbons resources (oil and gas). Lead staff coaching, development and mentoring. Develop concepts and lead detailed / integrated development studies for developed and undeveloped hydrocarbon resources. Required Experience and Skills:

  1. 15 to 20 years' work experience as a Reservoir Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Reservoir studies / surveillance / performance optimization expertise in large oil and gas fields emphasizing carbonate reservoirs.
  2. Significant experience working on mature fracture carbonate oil fields under waterflood.
  3. Experience in transient well test interpretation, balance modelling and performance prediction of vertical and horizontal wells.
  4. Experience in numerical reservoir simulation (black oil and compositional), history matching and field development plans.
  5. Experienced in infill and workover wells tasks.
  6. Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff and management.
  7. Must be familiar with reserves evaluation, classification and booking (SPE PRMS or SEC standards).
  8. Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  9. Must have experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
  10. Field Development Planning (Concept & Scenario)
  11. Exposure and previous working experience to project maturation stages (Identify, Select, Define, Execute, and Operate stages).
  12. Ability to contribute to FEED, EPIC, and decommissioning offshore projects.
  13. Hand on business planning, economic evaluation, reserves reporting process, and forecasting methods.
Educational Qualifications: BSc in Engineering (preferably in Petroleum Engineering) or Applied Sciences.
