Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise Process Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC Projects.Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate.Execute process engineering activities within budget and schedule, while maintaining the technical integrity of the design.Ensure that detail design methods, standards, and data used conform with Client's requirements and those issued.Be responsible for the checking or approval of the basis of design, process calculations, and safety-related calculations to develop a robust design.Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Process Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart, etc.Review and approve dynamic simulation studies, transient studies, surge studies, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) studies, etc.Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation, and flare system design.Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.Review and approve safety-related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews as required.Identify new methodologies of work processes required for higher productivity.Contribute to the review of supplier quotations and project reviews.Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied with in the work performed.Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers.Identify issues that impede project progress and report to Project Managers, Engineering Manager/Discipline heads.As Lead Discipline Engineer, manage the team of engineers and designers, delivering the engineering requirements of the project when assigned.Mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.Assist project team in the preparation of planning packages, scheduling, and weekly reporting.Assist in the preparation of pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures, and operating manuals as required.Provide assistance in man-hours estimation and scheduling for proposals.QualificationsBachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.Proficient in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA, etc., and should be a subject matter expert.Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.Experience working in a multi-project/multi-disciplined environment throughout all engineering and design phases of projects.Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.Desired Candidate ProfileProcess Design and Optimization: Expertise in designing and refining processes to improve efficiency, yield, and productivity.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, process systems, and related technologies.Project Management: Ability to manage projects from conception through execution, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline management.Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions in real-time.Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.Safety and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to the industry.Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to various stakeholders.Simulation and Modeling: Proficiency in using simulation software to model processes and predict performance.Cost Management: Understanding of budgeting and cost estimation related to process improvements and projects.Areas of ExpertiseProcess Control: Implementing and optimizing control strategies to maintain product quality and safety.Risk Assessment: Conducting hazard analysis and risk assessments to ensure safe operations.Technology Integration: Evaluating and integrating new technologies to enhance process capabilities.Quality Assurance: Developing and implementing quality control processes to meet industry standards.Collaboration: Working closely with R&D, production, and maintenance teams to align process improvements with business objectives.
