Detalhes do emprego

Are you passionate about cloud technology with a focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence and love sharing your knowledge with fellow developers? Do you enjoy creating content that simplifies complex concepts and inspires others to innovate? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Amazon Web Service (AWS) is seeking a Developer Advocate with expertise on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps. As a Developer Advocate for SRE/DevOps, your mission will be to empower developers to leverage AWS services effectively in their SRE and DevOps practices.

Key job responsibilities

As a Developer Advocate for AWS in Bangalore, you'll dive deep into AWS technologies, exploring how our services can solve complex operational challenges and drive innovation in the industry. From serverless architectures to container orchestration, from chaos engineering to observability solutions, you'll provide inspiration for reliability-aware operations and development processes with AWS. Your role will involve a mix of hands-on coding, content creation, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Developing demos, prototypes and delivering technical presentations showcasing AWS solutions for SRE and DevOps practices
  2. Creating educational content such as blog posts, tutorials, and workshop materials on reliability and operational excellence
  3. Engaging with the developer community through social media, forums, and Q&A platforms
  4. Staying current with the latest trends in SRE, DevOps, and cloud technologies
  5. Collaborating with internal teams to provide feedback on developer experiences and product improvements
  6. Traveling to events and conferences to represent AWS and share knowledge with the DevOps community
  7. Mentoring developers in implementing AWS solutions for complex operational challenges

A day in the life

Your day might start with a team standup to align on projects. You could then spend time developing a demo on AWS CloudFormation and Systems Manager, followed by writing a blog post about chaos engineering with AWS Fault Injection Simulator. In the afternoon, you might prepare for a webinar on container orchestration with ECS and Fargate, engage with the developer community on Stack Overflow, and explore new CloudWatch features for improved observability. Your role combines technical expertise, content creation, and community engagement to inspire and educate developers on AWS SRE/DevOps practices.

About the team

The Developer Experience team's mission is to explore the future of development so that we can help developers navigate a path to that future. Our goal is to inspire developers around the world. We show them how to practically use new technologies to build efficiently in the cloud. We show them new things they are now able to achieve, both in tackling more complex cloud problems and building new solutions that leverage generative AI. We earn trust with developers by being authentic, and by being practitioners ourselves. We are on an exciting journey together, and not everything is solved yet.

Diverse Experiences

AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience in SRE or DevOps engineering with modernized automation and operation (e.g. CI/CD, IaC, application performance monitoring, containers)
  3. Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with experience delivering technical content to developers of varied backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Hands-on experience with AWS services relevant to DevOps and SRE practices, such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodePipeline, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS Systems Manager.
