Role Overview: We’re seeking an enthusiastic Senior HR Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment. This role is perfect for someone passionate about building a dynamic company culture and developing policies that support our team’s growth and well-being. You’ll be instrumental in managing our hiring processes and ensuring that Alt Carbon remains where innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to the environment flourish. Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition: Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment, focusing on attracting top talent for various roles across science, operations, and support functions as we rapidly scale.
- Culture Building: Champion and cultivate a positive, purpose-driven company culture that aligns with our mission to combat climate change and empowers every team member.
- Policy Development: Establish and implement HR policies that support a high-performance environment, promote employee well-being, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Employee Engagement: Develop and implement programs to boost team morale, engagement, and retention, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and motivated.
- Performance Management: Design and manage performance evaluation processes, working closely with team leads to foster continuous improvement and growth.
- HR Operations: Oversee HR operations, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee records, ensuring efficient processes as we expand.
- Experience: At least 5+ years in HR roles, with a preference for candidates who have worked within science-first or tech-driven organizations and have experience managing operations teams.
- Passion for Climate Action: A strong interest in environmental initiatives and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven company working to combat climate change.
- Adaptability and Drive: Someone who loves the pace of a startup, can handle the challenges of rapid growth, and is proactive in finding creative solutions.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across teams and functions.
