Full time Talent Pool Mechanical Senior Supervisor Business Area Name: Typhoon Job Type: Full time City: Dukhan Country: Qatar Job Description The postholder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components. The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework. Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults in aircraft systems, equipment, and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures, and work effectively within a team. Provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment. Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection, and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components. Ensuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management. Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components, which may include aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and/or functional/system tests. Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to responsibilities and takes direction appropriately. Maintain personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components. Ensuring maintenance is undertaken to schedule and issues are resolved or escalated as required. Conduct fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance. Supervising the team to ensure maintenance is scheduled and issues are escalated, reporting on any impact to the wider program. Ensuring staff are sufficiently competent and approved for their tasks. Supporting tasks within the maintenance facility to maintain compliance with MOE and FMPs, such as oversight checks and control of tooling/test equipment. Provide guidance and leadership to the team, developing team members through formal assessments, supporting training requests, and on-the-job training. Demonstrate sound communication and people management skills to exchange complex information. Scope and carry out independent inspections. Maintain a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, including signing other personnel’s logbooks within your trade and skills boundaries after On the Job Training (OJT). If approved as a designated assessor, undertake authorization and task competency approvals and check Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission. Requirements Completion of Typhoon Q-Course is essential. Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent qualifications. Academic qualification: minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (on aircraft requirement). Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge within own technical area. Awareness of team integration to achieve overall objectives and understanding of continuous improvement. Experienced and competent leader with at least 2 years working at Technician level before undertaking a Supervisor role. Demonstrates breadth of experience, currency, and recency via a Log Book. Practical experience in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. Knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training. PDR training/experience. Ensure personal compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies, and procedures.
