Job Description An MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to capture detailed images of patients' internal structures. They position patients correctly, program the MRI machine, and ensure patient safety and comfort during the procedure. MRI Technologists also interpret physician orders, monitor patients, and maintain accurate records of examinations. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients and set imaging parameters to capture high-quality MRI images.
- Operate MRI machines and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Interpret physician orders and ensure the proper imaging protocol is followed.
- Monitor patients during MRI scans and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
- Collaborate with radiologists to interpret and assess MRI images.
- Maintain accurate documentation of examinations, including patient records and images.
- Calibrate and maintain MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology.
- Certification as a Registered MRI Technologist (ARRT) or another recognized professional certification.
- Strong knowledge of MRI principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical skills.
- Effective communication and patient care skills.
