Introduction / Job DescriptionCatering Sales Executive targets and coordinates catering sales efforts. The job involves the initiation and development of quality leads to ensure the growth of catering sales. The primary responsibility of a Catering Sales Executive is to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through catering lead generation and catering sales marketing. The Catering Sales Executive solicits new catering customers through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques.Other important duties include booking, selling, planning and coordinating all special social events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, conducting catering sales presentations and catering sales calls also falls under the purview of a catering sales manager job.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlanning menusDiscussing contract requirements with customersManage the Event Coordinator to ensure events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracyManage the Event Coordinator to ensure events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracyConfirm final billing accuracy prior to and then process the final billHandle event planning aspects prior to the business turning over for business booked in advance (greater than one year out)Gain and maintain an understanding of the overall market (e.g., competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand, etc.) and sell against themIdentify operational challenges associated with a group and determine how to best work with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutionsRepresent sales department at staff and stand up meetings and report on sales activityAdhere to all standards, policies, and proceduresPerform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assignedRequirements3-5 years of experience in catering salesLeadership experience in catering services requiredExperience telephone sales with proven sales negotiating and closing skills Speak with others using clear and professional languageDemonstrates strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle confidential and sensitive informationAbility to handle multiple guests and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time-sensitive deadlineProficient computer skills and knowledgeAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidaysStrong work ethic
