Department REFINING
Title ADVISOR, OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Primary Purpose of Job Provide a broad range of direct support to the Operations Manager to achieve Operational Excellence through systematic management of Personal Behaviour, Process Safety and the Reliability of QATARENERGY assets through competent workforce to achieve world class performance in line with QatarEnergy Vision. Provide expertise and support in the development and delivery of high level business strategy for VO Operations Areas (Refining Operations) based on the VO Operational Excellence Model through People (Organizational Capability), Process (Work Process Management System) and Technology (Equipment Supporting IT System). Manage / direct the Operational Excellence program to drive change and performance improvement in OMR and attain its' objectives and deliverables in line with set timelines providing emphasis on QatarEnergy Core Values.
Education
• Degree in Engineering discipline; a Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field strongly recommended.
Experience & Skills
• Extensive operations leadership experience within a refinery.
- Ability to connect & communicate at all levels within the organization, from the frontline to senior leadership.
- Ability to deliver through influence rather than authority.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to develop / define strategic direction and to execute delivery plans in support of this.
- Excellent cross-cultural communicator.
- Hands-on experience in the delivery of end-to-end process improvement to drive Operational Excellence
- Hands-on experience in working with Operational Excellence frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies & tools.
- Safety Leadership, authenticity, and credibility with frontline staff
- must be a seasoned operations professional in a refinery environment.
- Digital savvy, experienced in the use of data & systems to derive insights that drive action.
- Comprehensive experience of more than 15 years with proficiency in a number of areas of the refinery and chemicals industry, with 12 years in a senior technical or managerial role.
- Proven knowledge of maintenance activities from planning to execution, to deliver a safe and reliable operations efficiently will be bonus.
- Fluent in English for both written and oral communication.
- An effective communicator, able to solve complex problems effectively and tactfully by building consensus and resolving conflicts.
- Fully computer literate with proven skills in relevant software.
