Versatile, self-starting individual thatworks well on their own, with very little supervision, to monitor,provide training on, audit and improve a behavior-based safetyprogram. Candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of Federal,Local, and Army environmental, safety, and occupational healthmethods, practices, principles and procedures to performeffectively; promotes a wide variety of training activitiesdesigned to achieve awareness of safety and health hazards andcorresponding preventive procedures; on a recurring basis, inspectworksites to cite violations, recommend corrective actions, andinsure that hazardous conditions are eliminated. Works withmanagers, supervisors, leads, and officials to eliminate or controlhazardous operations or conditions. Responsibilities This positiondescription is subject to change at any time as needed to meet therequirements of the program or company. • Ensures aneffective contract-wide Safety and Health inspection, compliance,and behavioral monitoring program is in place that conforms toapplicable legal and other requirements. And ensures that Safetyand Health Program incorporates current industrial standards, and,where applicable, conforms to Federal regulations. Familiar withusing IH/Environmental principles to anticipate, recognize,evaluate and control potential physical, chemical and biologicalhealth hazards present in the work environment as well as trackingand data analysis per recognized analytical methods so thatappropriate regulatory standards can be applied to control risk.Competent in presenting instruction, measuring theemployees' knowledge base, tracking employees that havereceived specific training topics, and keeping employees current inall safety and environmental training. • Communicatesprofessionally, both orally and in writing, with otherprofessionals as needed to relay information necessary for jobsuccess. This includes, but is not limited to, posters, flyers,newsletters, staff meetings, performance appraisals, jobrequirements, metrics, projects plans, and quality standardprocedures and practices. • Communicates (manage from thefloor type) with senior management, area supervisors andregulators, assist with preparation of required corporate reports;updates ESH data bases to help implement a complete ESH Program.• Perform risk analysis, root cause analysis, and developprograms that exceed basic regulatory compliance, identify neededresources (such as personal protective equipment) and budget forresources, identify required training for employees in variousoperations. • Inspects work areas for potential safety andhealth non-compliance issues and reports findings to workplaceleaders while recommending abatement actions for identifieddeficiencies; monitors corrective action and tracks task tocompletion. • Observes compliance during workplaceinspections; documents behavior traits during audits. •Develops and/or reviews a variety of training lesson plans;presents safety and health training; presents orientation training.• Sets a good example to the workforce by following allenvironmental, safety, and health regulations, policies, proceduresand practices; keeps work area/equipment clean and orderly.• Mentors Safety inspectors. • Performs otherduties and assignments a
