We're looking to recruit a Head of Primary - Gharaffa Campus to join our Compass International School, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE SCHOOL

Compass International School Doha is a well-established school set across 3 campuses in the capital city of the State of Qatar. The school has provided premium education for expat and local families since 2006. All campuses offer a British international curriculum via the International Primary Curriculum. Our two 3 through schools offer the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs, AS and A levels as well as the prestigious IBDP in Years 12 and 13. Job Purpose

To offer leadership, inspiration, and guidance to your colleagues. To manage the day-to-day routines of the Primary school. To play a major role in strategic planning for your Primary school and the wider school. To work collaboratively as a key member of the cross-campus School Leadership Team. To work collaboratively with the DAM & Admissions team to grow the number of students on roll. To lead the community of students, parents, and other community stakeholders. To lead on safeguarding within the EYFS and Primary school.

Job Responsibilities

  • To deputise for the Executive Principal as appropriate
  • To work with the Executive Principal and the Leadership Team to formulate aims, objectives, and strategic plans for the School.
  • To build and develop the EYFS and Primary School Development Plan and support the development of the Whole School Development Plan.
  • To prepare, publish, and implement an appropriate and effective primary timetable that meets the needs of students and complements the School Development Plan and the requirements of the International Primary Curriculum and English UK National Curriculum.
  • To lead curriculum development throughout the EYFS and Primary School to ensure the delivery of an appropriate, challenging, and interesting academic and ECA programme that complements the work of the whole school.
  • To keep up to date with national and international developments in all curriculum areas, and with advances in teaching practice and methodology.
  • To monitor and respond to curriculum initiatives at international, UK, and local levels.
  • To undertake Performance Management Reviews for EYFS and Primary staff as required. More details about the role and requirements can be found in the accompanying job description. JD - Head of Primary Head of Primary Portfolio

    Personal Specifications

    Qualified to degree level or above Teaching Qualifications Fluency in English Further Degree (e.g. relevant Masters or NPQH is desirable) Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Proven leadership and people management skills Senior management background in EYFS and/or Primary Education Experience of delivering the English UK National Curriculum Proven curriculum management/development skills Commitment to outstanding EYFS provision Commitment to inlcusion The ability to develop good personal relationships within a team A willingness to act as a coach and mentor to colleagues An effective communicator (written and verbal) to a variety of audiences High level of personal IT competency An understanding of, an interest in, the rapidly changing IT environment as it applies to the education sector Familiarity with management information system Ability to work with a budget At Nord Anglia Education we are committed to providing a world-class, safe, happy environment in which children and young people can thrive and learn.
