The Construction Manager will supervise field construction of single large, or complex project, or multiple projects, including organization, planning, and scheduling in order to complete work on time, within budget, and to quality specified. The Construction Manager will also lead project field team members. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities Responsible to ensure contractors' strict adherence to contracted safety, schedule delivery, quality of work standards, performance, and adherence to budget of Supervisory of Site Managers, Field Engineers, Interns, and EHS Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors regarding field issues. Investigate and resolve Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret policies as Maintain official project log and documentation Assist with implementation and interpretation of safety Develop and implement overall project set-up and site logistics plan and identify project-specific scope of work to implement Develop and implement overall project work schedules, identify critical path including expedition of scheduled critical materials and equipment for timely delivery to Review and respond to subcontractor schedule impacts and/or claims of productivity Work with Project Manager and Commercial Manager to develop engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Requests for Information (RFIs), material samples, documentation and tracking of potential cost changes, and approved change orders within budgetary Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all Manage scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and contractors' employee staffing Document and respond to all project field issues impacting budget, quality, or Maintain collaborative working relationship with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project-specific QA/QC Plan delivers fully compliant Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party testing and inspections, analyze and report Oversee work of all contractors to promote coordinated project operation. Resolve local area problems, regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule, and all other appropriate Implement mock-ups and associated testing, reviews, and Ensure client provides all necessary permits and insurances, and ensure documents are kept current for project Manage billing process as it relates to Work-In-Place (WIP) and oversee monthly estimate of work completed, payments, material invoices, and contractors' payment applications. Manage work to ensure is installed in compliance with and confirms to approved contract Oversee development of punch lists, corrective, and remedial Research and applies additional Quality Control and Lean procedures to enhance quality of project Oversee project close-out and quality Lead by example and set standard for performance and behavior, act with integrity and Create supportive environment to develop high-performing team of Engineers and Document Controller, providing professional development opportunities and engage in coaching and mentoring Lead team members, provide timely performance feedback, and contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management Develop and deliver training to educate staff members regarding related department Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned Bachelor's Degree plus minimum of 10 years in construction Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principals & techniques, as well as knowledge on accounting Knowledge of various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and Previously worked on and successfully delivered large scale and complex Advanced MS Office skills Must be able to read, write and speak English Since 1982, Ghafari Associates has taken a personal approach to highly technical projects in complex markets including aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, hospitality, K-12 and higher education.
