JASARA PMC is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Design - Technical - ICT & Smart Tech to join our innovative team. This role is critical in overseeing the design and implementation of cutting-edge ICT and smart technology solutions within our infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that these technological elements are seamlessly integrated into our overall project designs while adhering to industry standards and client requirements. As the Senior Technical Manager - Design, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning, design, and delivery of cutting-edge projects in the fields of Smart Technology, ICT and Data Centres. Be responsible for managing the technical design reviews from concept through to execution and delivery whilst ensuring compliance with the project, client and industry standards/requirements. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership and technical expertise, driving innovative solutions to meet project goals on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest quality standards. - Leads the team, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that provide superior outcomes. Provide consistent leadership and will support client focus and responsiveness and will help to ensure identification and anticipation of client needs.
- Manages the team's deliverables through effective leadership by setting individual objectives, managing performance and developing the team to maximize performance.
- Leads end-to-end project management for Smart Technology, ICT, and Data Centre initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and providing recommendations highlighting risk and mitigation strategies.
- Oversees the planning, design, implementation, and commissioning of ICT, Smart Technology and Data Centres for the project.
- Ensures smooth coordination with consultants, making sure they adhere to project timelines and meet the clients high-quality standards.
- Leads the design team in undertaking technical design reviews to ensure compliance with all Project Requirements and Strategy, Project, Design and Development Briefs, including innovation, optioneering and value engineering.
- Leads the team to ensure design deliverables are provided by the design consultants in accordance with their contract, district and sub-district program requirements.
- Collaborates closely with various internal departments, clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to fully understand project requirements and create innovative design solutions that satisfy client requirements and local codes and standards.
- Proactively monitors and tracks project progress, promptly identify and resolve any design-related challenges or conflicts that may arise and report timeously on these.
- Efficiently manages and maintains meticulous project documentation, including design records, change orders, and necessary approvals.
- Initiate and chair meetings with the client, consultants, design team and stakeholders whilst capturing minutes of meetings as necessary.
- Manages all matters related to design being fit for purpose specifically Safety in Design.
- Leads the design sign off process by all design consultants / sub-contract designers.
- Ensures quality assurance processes are in place to review design deliverables and ensure compliance with project specifications, design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures the team designs according to the cost/business plan, system and operations plan.
- Assists Cost Consultants assess the cost of design changes and track accordingly ensuring proper change management processes are adhered to throughout the design process.
- Oversees production of Work Breakdown Structure for design/engineering deliverables which is suitable for production of design documentation and is in accordance with procurement, construction staging and project phasing requirements.
- Oversees the governance of Shared and Published information within Delta B and all the Sub-Districts.
- Facilitates the coordination of interfaces between projects within Districts and City Infrastructure.
- Assists with the evaluation of RFP proposals and provides necessary support to the various business teams.
- Assists, prepares and presents both progress reports and stage gate presentations for each project, highlighting key milestones, challenges, programmes, designs, costs / budgets and achievements.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering with specialization in ICT & Smart Technologies and Data Centres.
- An Engineering Master's degree would be an advantage.
- Professional registration in respective discipline (i.e. Chartered Engineer or similar) is necessary.
- Registration as a Project Management Professional (PMP) would be an advantage.
- A minimum of 15yrs relevant experience in the design and project delivery of ICT, Smart Technologies and Data Centres, including detailed reviews, documentation, specifications and staff coordination.
- Proven experience planning, designing and delivery of large-scale and complex Data Centres, Smart Technologies and ICT infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of smart technology systems, data centre designs, and ICT network design.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and compliance standards in ICT environments.
- Experience in delivery to program, balancing competing requirements on project to deliver design outcome (e.g. cost v. time v. quality).
- Diverse experience working within Mega/large scale complex design and construction programs across private and/or government sectors would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget is necessary.
- Experience in coordinating and executing design activities, managing design consultants, engaging with stakeholders and coordinating design team members is crucial for this role.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills to set clear goals, motivate teams and deliver results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively articulate ideas, strategies and project performance to a range of audiences, such as; clients, consultants, contractors, multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with attention to detail, are necessary.
- Foster a culture of Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing business requirements.
- Expertly manages and prioritizes the workload of the team, deadline driven.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge in using engineering design software and related tools is necessary.
- Expert knowledge of both relevant industry and local standards, codes and regulations.
- Previous KSA/Middle East experience will be an advantage.
