General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority - GCGRA As the Manager of Responsible Gaming at GCGRA, your primary responsibility is to develop, implement, and enforce policies and programs to ensure responsible gaming practices within the gaming industry. You will work closely with gaming operators, stakeholders, and the public to promote awareness and prevent gambling-related harm. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the gaming industry while safeguarding vulnerable individuals. The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) is the federal executive agency responsible for regulating and overseeing commercial gaming in the United Arab Emirates. We aim to drive sustainable growth by cultivating world-class commercial gaming operations and implementing efficient regulation, grounded in the principles of integrity, innovation, and responsible practices. Established by Federal Law by Decree and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the GCGRA is the executive authority that holds exclusive jurisdiction to regulate, license, and supervise all commercial gaming activities and facilities in the UAE.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and update responsible gaming policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments in the gaming regulator to integrate responsible gaming principles into licensing, compliance, marketing campaigns, and enforcement processes.
  • Establish parameters that demonstrate the effectiveness of responsible gaming programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Design responsible gaming policies, procedures, and guidelines that are adopted industry-wide.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to increase awareness of responsible gaming practices among gaming operators, employees, and the public.
  • Liaise with the public, treatment providers, compulsive gamblers assistance organizations, media, and others regarding recognition and prevention of compulsive and problem gambling.
  • Regularly collaborate with stakeholders to raise awareness of the potential risks associated with gambling.
  • Maintain the self-exclusion list and coordinate self-exclusion intake and dissemination of the self-exclusion list.
  • Conduct regular reviews of gaming operators to assess their compliance with responsible gaming regulations and guidelines.
  • Investigate complaints and reports related to responsible gaming and implement appropriate enforcement actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and legal authorities to investigate and prosecute illegal gambling activities.
  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Senior Staff concerning the status of responsible gaming programs.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of responsible gaming principles, problem gambling prevention, and player protection measures. Familiarity with relevant gambling regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, public health, business) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ethical conduct and a commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices.
  • Strong understanding of gaming products and platforms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
