We are partnering with a prestigious global law firm that operates over 40 offices across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Recently, they have established a new office in Riyadh and are currently in the process of expanding their presence in the region. Finance Function Overview: The Finance Function, reporting to the Global CFO, consists of approximately 350 staff members and has four key responsibilities:
  • Transaction Processing
  • Reporting
  • Control
  • Decision Support
Role Description: We are seeking a Finance Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role will lead the finance function in the Riyadh office and oversee the accuracy and delivery of the firm's regulatory and statutory reporting for this location. The Finance Manager will be involved in budget setting, management report preparation, and ensuring efficient delivery of all financial services and processes vital for business operations. This hands-on position requires extensive interaction with stakeholders globally, including local finance teams, partners, and business teams. Key Responsibilities: Transaction Processing:
  • Provide local operational finance support, including clients, matters, billing, salaries, payments, and receipts, using the local accounting program Sage and the global finance system Elite.
  • Promptly record and allocate bill receipts from clients.
  • Identify client money received and liaise with partners to ensure compliance with local Accounts Rules.
  • Handle client account transactions, payments, transfers, and interest calculations.
Reporting:
  • Play a role in preparing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Ensure accuracy in regulatory and statutory reporting and tax filings under Saudi Arabian law.
  • Collaborate with audit teams and accountants in Group offices for efficient auditing processes.
  • Work with the tax team on partner-related matters, transfer pricing, VAT, etc.
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly closings, alongside supporting information for the central finance function.
  • Report financial irregularities directly to the Global Finance Director.
Control:
  • Develop and review local internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize risk, aligned with worldwide finance policies.
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure local compliance with fiscal and regulatory reporting requirements.
Decision Support:
  • Provide high-quality advisory services to Management, Partners, and Senior Support Leaders on strategic planning, profitability analysis, pricing, client management, and billing support.
  • Lead and manage the finance staff in the office, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and controlling budgets.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of local financial and billing functions and office policies.
  • Collaborate with partners' matters teams and the Head of Tax in London for compliance and planning.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily finance and billing team operations.
  • Analyze and manage contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors.
  • Sign agreements and finance documents in the absence of authorized personnel.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Person Specification:
  • Ability to engage with senior managers and partners, both locally and internationally, with diplomacy and persuasion.
  • Team player, working closely with qualified and non-qualified accountants.
  • Diligent, with the capacity for critical review and careful self-checking of work; high-profile output with minimal errors expected.
  • Proactive in adding value to assigned areas.
  • Hands-on approach with limited scope for delegation.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to plan and complete tasks on a strict timetable with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Essential previous experience in a business partnering role within legal or professional services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
