Company Description Gulf Cryo, a leading provider of industrial gas solutions, is a privately-owned company headquartered in Dubai, operating in over 10 countries across the Middle East and Gulf. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a Project Controller at Gulf Cryo in Dammam. The Project Controller Responsible for end-to-end process to track progress on major projects (generally above $3M CAPEX) across Gulf Cryo in various countries including cost incurred, cost committed, cost forecast, cash forecast, and overall project timeline vs. budget until cost capitalization upon the close of the project and post-investment reviews. Support interim and post investment review process on key projects. Ensure fixed assets are adequately tracked. Individual must build strong connections and work closely with the country accounting, group Treasury, and project execution teams. Position is based in Dammam, KSA. As time permits, this individual will also assist the KSA business finance team with accounting support, particularly at month-end. Core Responsibilities Project Controller

  • Become the go-to finance person with a clear and up-to-date understanding of on-going projects, their life-to-date and projected performance against business case assumptions, and the ability to adequately explain variances in cost, time, or projected benefits. This individual is the holder of all project documents with full control of the project cycle from business case preparation through post investment reviews.
  • Full responsibility for timely preparation and accuracy of Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and invoices for project-related costs working closely with Finance and Technical team to support effective financial tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • The Project Controller will ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and provided to the finance department on schedule to facilitate loan requirements, fixed asset recording, & overall cost management.
  • Ensure the finance shared drive contains all approved business cases and the most current project documentation validating completeness, accuracy, approvals, etc. Copies of POs, invoices, or other documentation needed for audit purposes should also be readily available.
  • Initiate project budgets with a structure for identifying critical path items and important spend items (Work Breakdown Structure or WBS), forecasts, and cost reports
  • Ensure that costs are appropriately recorded under the desired Cost Center, assigned to the right project, and associated correctly in the work breakdown structure. Implement cross-functional process improvements or system enhancements to ensure costs are recorded correctly the first time
  • Cash Planning (In & out) for all projects with figures synchronized from D365 ERP in alignment with other group entities for inter-company execution projects
  • Interface with Commercial, Procurement and Project Mgmt. Teams with regards to Project Cost Management, Variation Orders and Claims management.
  • Prepare documentation for regular project status meetings with internal and external stakeholders & ensure the accuracy of projects data. Ensure there are signed minutes of meetings and follow-up of all action items.
  • Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained for project deadlines, costs, revenue recognition (where applicable) and quality metrics
  • Identify, define & implement suitable measures for reducing risks or realizing opportunities. Ensure this is documented in a project risk register.
  • Contribute to the strategic plan for the group as well as regular board of directors updates.
  • Collaborate on the project completion report summarizing lessons learned with feedback to the organization. Ensure key learnings are thoroughly documented (what happened, mitigation, damage, etc.); there is a clear history of deviation (time and money); and maintain a database of blacklisted contractors, etc.
Asset Controller
  • Ensure all fixed assets are inventoried at least every 5 years across the group.
  • Identify any potential fixed asset impairments.
  • Work with the Engineering Team to develop and maintain production asset maintenance plans. Required spare parts should be tracked in PP&E, not inventory, and ordered in time to secure production and minimize working capital.
  • Work with the Distribution Team to develop and maintain distribution asset maintenance plans. Required spare parts should be tracked in PP&E, not inventory, and ordered in time to secure production and minimize working capital.
  • Utilize cylinder barcoding data and purchase records to identify if there have been any cylinder losses to support potential lost cylinder provisions. Work with Distribution Asset Manager to identify opportunities to charge back to customers.
  • Identify fixed assets which are no longer usable and can be sold to create space and generate cash.
KSA
  • Fixed Assets Project Invoice booking and Capitalization in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Loans booking Loan related entries, Preparing Loan Workings, tracking loan withdrawal and payments,
  • Audit Preparation of Audit Schedules for PPE, Intangibles, Loans.
  • Serve as a replacement for the other team members during their annual leave.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Job requires travel to other Gulf Cryo countries where projects are on-going. Individual should be able and comfortable to visit Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and Jordan. Travel could be up to 1 week per month.
  • Report immediately all incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions to the immediate supervisor. Protect the environment. Operate a clean-desk basis.
  • Accountable for own health and safety and do not put others at risk in the course of work performance.
  • Always comply with company policies and procedures.
Job Requirement Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/ accounting
  • Qualified Accountant is Mandatory with either CA/ACCA/CPA US qualification
Experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in Fixed assets accounting, Project Management, Accounting, Finance with working knowledge of overall accounting and finance department.
Skills
  • Must have a very strong analytical skill, meticulous, detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated project management, communication, and influencing skills
  • High level of computer literacy with specific requirements for Dynamics 365, Excel, PPT.
Languages Strong communication skills in English and Arabic is required. Turkish/ Kurdish/ Hindi are plusses. #J-18808-Ljbffr
