Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager

Job Description

The Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager will support all aspects of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax management, budgeting, and forecasting within the organization. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, leading the extended accounting team, and providing strategic financial guidance to management. The role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to identify priority tasks effectively. They should be eager to get involved in new projects and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and development.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting: Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, as well as internal policies. Consolidate financial data from various sources and present it clearly to stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory authorities.
  2. Month-end Process Management: Lead the month-end closing process for entities across the Middle East, overseeing the entire process to ensure its efficiency and accuracy. Coordinate with different departments to collect financial data, review balance sheets and other financial statements, and make necessary adjustments to improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant laws to ensure the organization's financial practices adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  4. Tax Management: Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations. Manage tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits for the organization.
  5. Internal Controls and Audit: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial data and prevent inaccuracies in financial reporting. Lead the coordination of internal and external audits.
  6. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor the extended accounting team, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting with managerial or supervisory experience (4 years post-qualification experience).
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, leadership, and team management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
