About the Role - We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and manage the technical and engineering aspects of our event projects. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of technical solutions for various live events, including conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, festivals, and other large-scale gatherings. The Project Engineer Manager will collaborate closely with the event management team, vendors, and clients to ensure the successful execution of events on time, within scope, and on budget. Responsibilities: Project Management:

  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of technical aspects for events, ensuring smooth operations and successful delivery.
  • Coordinate all project phases, from conceptualization to post-event analysis.
  • Define and manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Track and report on project progress, risks, and milestones to senior management and clients.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical specialists to deliver high-quality event solutions.
  • Liaise between internal teams (design, production, logistics) and external vendors to ensure all technical requirements are met.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team during event setups, troubleshooting, and breakdowns.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment, ensuring efficient communication across all departments.
Technical Solutions & Innovation:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of audio-visual, lighting, staging, rigging, and other event technologies.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve event production.
  • Develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges and ensure seamless integration with other event elements.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements and objectives for each event.
  • Provide technical consultancy and recommendations to clients based on their needs and the event’s scope.
  • Ensure clients are kept informed and satisfied with all technical aspects of the event.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure all technical operations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to ensure safe and efficient event setups.
  • Monitor and ensure all equipment and systems are tested and functioning properly before, during, and after events.
Budget & Resource Management:
  • Prepare detailed budgets for the technical aspects of events and track expenses to ensure costs stay within budget.
  • Procure necessary materials, equipment, and services from suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage inventory and logistics for event equipment and ensure all resources are available as required.
Post-Event Review & Reporting:
  • Lead post-event evaluations to assess the success of the technical elements and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Compile technical reports for clients and internal teams, documenting key insights and recommendations for future events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience 8+ years in project management, preferably in the event or entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of event technologies (audio, visual, lighting, staging, rigging).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in safety standards or event industry-specific training is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in large-scale events such as conferences, exhibitions, live performances, or festivals.
  • Knowledge of event production software and tools (AutoCAD, Vectorworks, etc.).
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
