Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for conducting regular site inspections to ensure piping works adhere to the project's quality standards, design specifications, and are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulations.
TASKS:
Conduct inspections of piping materials, components, and installations at various stages of fabrication, construction, and commissioning, in accordance with project requirements, codes, and standards;
Perform visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) of piping components, welds, and assemblies to verify conformance with design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASME, API);
Review material certificates, test reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with 3.1 certification requirements and traceability of materials from the manufacturer to the installation site;
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of piping materials, and verify compliance with project specifications and quality requirements;
Conduct material identification and verification tests (e.g., PMI, hardness testing) to confirm the composition and properties of piping materials and assess their suitability for intended applications;
Witness and document hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests of piping systems, verifying the integrity and performance of welds, joints, and connections under operating conditions;
Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken, and communicate results to project stakeholders in a clear and timely manner;
Provide technical support and guidance to construction crews, contractors, and project teams regarding quality requirements, inspection procedures, and best practices for piping installations;
Participate in project meetings, audits, and reviews to address quality-related issues, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuous compliance with quality management systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred;
6+ years of experience as a Piping Inspector in the Oil & Gas industry, with specific expertise in 3.1 material testing and inspection;
1 Material Testing & Inspection certificate;
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, piping isometrics, and specifications;
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as UT, PT, MT, and RT;
Fluent level of written and spoken English.

Job Location: : Dubai Drydocks (UAE);
Contract Duration: 6 months;
Starting date: June 2024.
