As an Event Manager at IDC, you will be helping plan and oversee all aspects of an event or conference from the conception of the initial idea to the last detail of the event. You will be managing staff related to the event including caterers, entertainment, activities, and branding and more importantly communication with our sponsors. You will also be in charge of adherence to the budget and the timeline as well as making sure that all stakeholders are communicated with. Events you will focus on will be mostly in the Middle-East.
Type of position: Permanent, full-time, on-site
Your key responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, deliverables, and resources required for successful conference execution.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with event partners, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Attendee Management: Oversee attendee registration, communication, and support to ensure a seamless conference experience.
Website Management: Update and maintain conference websites with relevant information, including agendas, speaker bios, and registration details.
Collaboration with IDC Analysts: Liaise with IDC analysts to integrate research insights and industry trends into conference content and programming.
Graphics Team Coordination: Work closely with the graphics team to develop visual assets, including presentations, signage, and promotional materials.
Events Marketing Support: Collaborate with the events marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, drive attendee registration, and maximize conference attendance.
Budget Management: Monitor conference budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
Onsite Event Management: Provide onsite support during conferences to oversee logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the overall success of the event.
Qualifications:
Ideally at leaast 5+ years of proven experience in conference management or event planning, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is a must have.
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands effectively.
Experience with events in the IT sector is a plus,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular good skills with Excels are appreciated.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required for onsite event support.
