Overall responsibility for the effective functioning of the hospital. Ensures that effective programs, policies and procedures are introduced and implemented for the smooth and responsible functioning of the departments of the hospital, especially the Medical and Nursing Departments. Ensures the same for Administrative Departments through the Administration Department.
Supports continuous Quality Improvement. Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care. Demonstrates good knowledge and control of hospital processes. Provides direction for the hospital and ensures that corporate vision, mission, and objectives are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities:
Inculcates and cultivates corporate values.
Demonstrates ability to see the big picture in terms of the strategic operational plan and the ability to monitor and direct processes to fulfill such plans.
Understands financial statements and ensures financial objectives.
Ensures compliance with the JCI requirements.
Supervises and directs all Heads of Departments.
Evaluates incumbents and provides annual and ongoing feedback as appropriate.
Provides guidance and direction to the development of all Heads of Departments in acting positions.
Co-ordinates the provision of development assignments for Heads of Departments with potential advancement.
Directs and monitors the delivery of health care in Departments.
Approves vacation schedules for Heads of Departments.
Approves acting assignments for vacation relief.
Supports active Continuing Medical Education programs within the hospital.
Works closely with other Department Heads in developing policies and procedures to promote quality health care.
As Chairman of the Hospital Management Executive Committee, convenes the committee to execute its responsibilities in managing the hospital.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.
Post-Graduate Masters degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience post certification.
Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
