About us: WKC Group is an environmental consultancy firm offering high-value advisory services and technical studies. WKC offers expertise in areas such as Environmental Impact Assessment, environmental modelling, marine and biodiversity studies, and a range of assurance related services. WKC's award-winning team is strategically located in the Middle East, the UK, and South Africa allowing reach around the world across multiple sectors including energy, mining, transportation, industrial and residential development.The role: WKC is offering opportunities to entry-level applicants hoping to get into Environmental Site work. The role will be based in the UAE with a focus on offering support to WKC's ecological services, including marine and/or terrestrial ecology and biodiversity surveys, environmental monitoring (water quality, sediment quality, noise, etc.), and data collation.Responsibilities:Support WKC ecologists (terrestrial and/or marine) conducting field surveys, including:Benthic habitat identification;MMROWater quality samplingSediment quality samplingHabitat health assessment (e.g. seagrass and coral)Turtle nesting and hatching surveysDrop down video transectsSCUBA transectsDrive survey vessels (and tow where needed)Provide vehicle transportDrive pick-ups if needed.Candidate Requirements:BSc in relevant subject (e.g. Biology, Zoology, Ecology etc.)Experience (work or research experience) in field studies;Driver's license;PADI certification.Candidate Preferences:Skipper license (motor boat)Over 5 years UAE experience
